Serere Township Secondary School was founded on the 5th day of January, 1998 with a visionary mission: to empower & inspire Learners to be Creative, Achieve Academic Excellence and shine Globally.The school was initially supported by colleaques (Graduates of some Universities) who did give children in the rural Parts of the Community go up in the Academic Ladder. The school began in a church house with an open roof which was then improvised using Polythene Bags and paopyrus mats. There were neither chairs nor desks, So the school requested parents to send in their children with seats. The school by then had dedicated teachers mostly in them- Were Volunteers who were committed to play a vital role academic excellence.
From its very beginning, the school's role has been aligned to make the best accomplishment of our mission, vision and values inorder to give disadvantaged but talented Boys & girls a chance to go up in the Academic ladder and ensuring the school serves interests of Learners. The School's HeadTeacher in the 1998 was Mr. Elayu Michael (currently the Chief Executive Officer | Director) The school continues to be inline with the gov't policies and Directives Legislated by MOES

Serere Township Secondary School officially opened its doors with a pioneering spirit and a commitment to quality education.The School was warmly welcomed by the Local Authorities, and it was the first Secondary School with A'Level Education in Serere by 1998. The initial intake consisted of 200 students and a relatively small dedicated teaching Staff ainly dorminated by Volunteers.

Focus on growing up Students in the Academic Ladder
The school launched A Level Campus in Ajesa Kikoota Cell (Serere Township Secondary School East Wing). The campus has a safe & conduicive Learning Environment, Standard Facilities and offers Education Service for all Adavanced Level Classes : S5 and S6

The school embarked on a comprehensive digital transformation program. Our Computer Labs were enhanced in to Modern ones for respective Campuses, and digital learning resources were integrated into the curriculum. We launched our professional School website, premium transformation from a former school website that was first Hosted by Go-Daddy Hosting Co., later deployed by Wix and in that; the Brand New Professional Website Hosted By Jubilee web host and built by one of our Students : Alakara Ulolo Gabriel, Our A LEVEL Student [PEM/ICT Class] 2025-2026

Today, Serere Township Secondary School stands as a beacon of educational excellence in Eastern Uganda and entire Country. Guided by our motto "Work Not Words" and our 2025 theme "Road to Greatness," we continue to put up Students in the Academic Ladder.
From the past of being "Zero" & now to "Hero" : Serere Township Secondary School has 2 campuses respectively for O Level and A Level. We also have an increased total number of Students and Dedicated Teaching Staff. The School's Infrastructures have simultanously Developed, in that; Modern Computer labs, Storeyed Buildings.Serere Township Secondary School has consistently recorded outstanding performance and nurtured professionals such as doctors, engineers, and teachers through the National Merit and District Quota systems..
